our mission
Preservation of historical, architectural and cultural values that mark the 500 years since the arrival of the Jews to Bosnia and traditional values: Sephardic romances, Sephardic cuisine, culture and customs.
Research of events related to the history of the Jews in Bosnia.
Publication of books and organization of exhibitions related to the preservation of Sephardic culture of Bosnian Jews.
Education and publication of tourist guides in Sarajevo and Mostar with the aim to better present Jewish community in the framework of the European Route of Jewish Heritage.
What we do
The rich heritage Jewish community has left to Bosnia and Herzegovina gives special identity to our association.
This fact motivates us to work permanently on the preservation and promotion of Jewish culture or events that define our community.
We have committed ourselves to preserve and promote, in every way possible, the following monuments of material culture:
The Sarajevo Haggadah, Old Sephardic Cemetery in Sarajevo, The Tomb and the Pilgrimage Site of Rav Moše Danon in Stolac, Old Sephardic Synagogue, The Great Synagogue, The Ashkenazi Synagogue and all other monuments of Jewish culture
We also educate tourist guides to be able to lead the Jewish Sarajevo tour and give accurate information about the long Jewish history in B&H.
HAGGADAH tries to preserve Sarajevo’s reputation as The European Jerusalem (Little Jerusalem) because we have 4 religions living side by side for centuries.
