The Sefard night is an attempt to preserve Jewish culture and tradition in Sarajevo, and to promote and present as a part of tourist offer. The event will present some dishes from the rich sefard cuisine, some of which are almost forgotten. Visitors will have the opportunity to listen to Bosnian sevdalinka singing in the Ladino Bosnian language.
There is also a story, known to the present day: Jews of Sefardi, falling in love with Sarajevo, where they found their new home, called this town “Little Jerusalem”, or ladino: “Jerušalajim cika”. Today, they are proud to say that Sarajevo is “European Jerusalem”.
